According to the recent survey conducted in Hong Kong, it reveals that up to 25% of young Hongkongers have suffered from mental disorders. If you would like to provide support to your friends or family members, please join the Mental Health First Aid course to be organized by the College to equip yourselves the basic knowledge for Mental Health First Aid. The details of the course can be found below:
Objectives:
- Acquire basic knowledge of common mental health problems
- Identify the signs of mental health problems or crises
- Learn how to offer initiate help and support before the situation gets worse
- Know how to encourage persons in need to seek professional help or make use of appropriate community resources
Contents:
- Mental Health First Aid action plans: ALGEE;
- Basic knowledge about common mental health problems, i.e. Depression, Anxiety problems, Substance Abuse problems, and Psychosis, and related crisis situations, i.e. Suicide, Panic attacks, Substance Addiction, and Psychotic behaviour;
- Identify the resources available in the local community.
