Associate College Master Professor Kam-fai Wong elected Fellow of the Association for Computational Linguistics 2020

kf We have much pleasure in announcing that our Associate Master, Professor Wong Kam Fai (黃錦輝教授), Associate Dean (External Affairs) of the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology), has been named Fellow of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) in the class of 2020.

Prof. Wong is a pioneer in the field of computational linguistics and he is among the first researchers to investigate natural language processing (NLP) for microblogs. He has significant contributions to social media processing, Chinese information retrieval, opinion mining, microblog processing and rumour detection. His success has been internationally recognized that his research paper “Detect Rumours Using Time Series of Social Context Information on Microblogging” has been widely used by the community with over 400 citations globally over the past three years.
