Abstract:

RiceFort transforms rice husks into biodegradable, waterproof, and mold-proof fiberboards. By integrating farmers into the value chain, it turns agricultural waste into valuable resources. More affordable than many green alternatives, RiceFort offers a sustainable, non-toxic solution that is both cost-effective and accessible to the wider market.

Project Progress

RiceFort developed rice-husk fiberboard into functional furniture prototypes e.g., stools, cat tree, wine pedestal, bar stool, etc., demonstrating strong structural performance. Moisture sensitivity remained a challenge.

During the following months, the team built and delivered a sturdy, sustainable table to c!ab, featuring a laser-etched logo and QR-code documentation. Testing confirmed the boards meet industry standards.
