Save Energy to Save Earth
Background
In 2023 the University introduced the Energy Conservation Incentive Scheme for Student Hostels (ECIS-SH) with the participation of all CUHK hostel buildings of the Colleges, Postgraduate Halls and I-House. The aim of ECIS-SH is to encourage positive behavioural change among student hostel residents and raise awareness throughout the University of the importance of energy consumption and conservation.
Roles of Student Energy Ambassadors
Student Energy Ambassadors are invited to apply for funding from ECIS-SH to create and execute innovative publicity, education, and engagement projects in their hostels. This is a chance to compete for the prestigious Innovation and Engagement Awards—each winner will receive an e-certificate and a cash prize of up to $4,000!
College Students Winning “Engagement Award” in 2024
Our Student Energy Ambassadors have been awarded with the Engagement Award for their project “Sustainable Steps” in 2024 which primarily aimed at reducing usage of dryers in student hostels and other promotion on energy-saving tips.
